Ultrasound uses sound waves to create images of the uterus, ovaries, and surrounding pelvic structures. It may be recommended for abnormal bleeding, pelvic pain, fibroids, ovarian cysts, an enlarged uterus, IUD concerns, or other findings.
Kennesaw Gynecology offers ultrasound within the practice, allowing imaging to be coordinated with your clinical evaluation and reviewed in the context of your symptoms.
What to expect
Depending on the clinical question, the study may be performed through the abdomen, vaginally, or both. The team will explain preparation, privacy, and what the images can—and cannot—determine.
